Bored at work

Since it is Christmas time, there are fewer and fewer people at work these days. So I am pretty bored. So that is why I have changed up my blog. I've updated and rearranged some things. I added this really cool Fitness Tip of the Day gadget, as you may have noticed already. I thought that was pretty cool. Now my blog is not only fun (yeah right) but also useful. You still shouldn't expect daily updates, though. But visit anyway for the fitness tip!

I also changed the background and stuff to make it appear more festive for Christmas. I did my best with what I had to work with.

Hope you like it! Leave a comment :)

Seasons Greetings!

Well it's that time of year again. The time to remember how fortunate we are that our Lord provided a GIFT of salvation to us through his son. We endure long lines and traffic with bad attitudes just to give things to our loved ones as a symbol of the season. The irony is that none of these "gifts" mean anything in the landscape of eternity, and the act of giving is something that should be done from the heart. Therefore, we endure it for the good the gifts will bring to the ones we love....think of how our God loves us exponentially above that. He had more than just time and money to lose. And Jesus himself had more to lose, knowing the purpose for his earthly life - and death. But the resurrection made it worth it.
I myself am just as guilty of having less than a "holly jolly" attitude sometimes. But it mainly has to do with traffic. Maybe someone should write a book about how to find God in times of traffic.
Anyway, out of the depths. But think about what I said.
Here is a picture of me and Jon!

It's Official....

Since my last post there have been a few things that have become matters of indubitable fact:

1 - I am now officially 30 years old. Older than a quarter of a century, less than a third, so overall, not too bad. I have high hopes for this decade, as I hope that it turns out to be the "real" twenties for me, sort of like a do-over. Didn't like the original 20's. Hopefully "round 2" will be much better.

2 - I am now officially a girlfriend. I have been trying for the last 20 minutes to upload a picture but it has been futile. But just FYI, my boyfriend is ever so dreamy ;) Maybe I'll have better luck from home.
3 - I am now officially on my way out of THE BIG CITY. Trying to relocate back to where life is simple is now a priority. I met with a realtor last night and I'll be putting my house up for sale within the week. Hopefully it will sell quickly.
I guess that sums up the news portion of this broadcast. Stand by for traffic.

OK People....

Notice the subtitle of my blog. It says "daily-ish." This expressly implies that you are not guaranteed a daily post. If you have a problem with this, then maybe you should find something else to do with your life besides check my blog every day. Ok...so now I'm off my soap box.

Here's the deal. I'm having a very difficult time being motivated at work. I don't like it. It's boring and a monkey could do it. Yes - I said it. A monkey could do it. A monkey with a GED. I'm sorry if this steps on anyone's toes, as it did the last time I said it at work. (Turns out Buyers don't like being compared to monkeys...too bad.) Plus, on top of that, I have to fight traffic just to get here.

I can't sleep at night. Not sure what that's all about. But I get really sleepy during the evening, but when I go to bed, I just lay there wide awake for like an hour and a half. Then I don't want to get up. Partly because I'm sleepy, and partly because I dread the work day.

I know this blog sounds crazy, but I'm really not all that unhappy and I'm in a relatively good mood. Wish I wasn't sitting here eating oatmeal for breakfast, but supposedly that has its benefits.

Romans 8:26-27 says In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

How awesome is that???

Wow

So it's been over a month since I have updated my blog. This has made many people unhappy, but I would like to direct you to my blog list. You will see that I have added my friend Matt's awesome blog to my list. Please visit The Greatness Of....you are in for a treat! Except if you're a member of PETA. There will be pictures of massacred animals. Then you won't enjoy it so much.

There has been a lot of stuff that has happened since the last time I blogged. But there is too much to write about here, so let's just call this a do-over and I will try to do better. Promise.

Vote Now

Ok. So someone wrote a comment on my last blog saying Albuquerque is gross. I don't want to be disappointed when I go...so I will initiate a little poll. If you think Albuquerque is gross, leave a comment. If you think Albuquerque is NOT gross, leave a comment.

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. I went to spend the weekend with my grandparents who live on a golf course. Too bad we didn't make it through a whole round of golf because I WAS PLAYING LIKE CRAP and it was like a thousand degrees outside. A round of golf really shouldn't be longer than about 12 holes anyway. I'm ready for fall weather. So we spent a lot of time inside...cooking and taking turns bringing Grandaddy food and iced tea. I learned how to make homemade blackberry jelly and hushpuppies. I also accidentally created a derivative of Sinful Brownies. We've had to dub it Sinful Cake because it turned out more like a cake. It's not quite as good as the brownies. Normally it is not my preference to begin the majority of the sentences in a particular paragraph with "I" but in the context of a blog it is difficult not to sometimes.

A group of friends and I watched The Mummy III last night. It left me with only one question: why did they feel that the two Mummys were inadequate? For the love of all things stop the madness! All the good shows aren't coming out until the middle of September or later. I'm really excited about Madagascar II (that was a movie worth a sequel) and the next 007 (another good series). BTW, how smokin' hot is Daniel Craig? Feel free to comment about that too if you want.

Peace out.

Upcoming Excitement

I have to travel to Albuquerque in a couple of weeks for business and a group of us are going to get together and go HIKING!! I've never been hiking, unless you count tromping around the woods behind our house. This is the link to the trail we're going to hike: http://www.laluztrail.com/. I hope I don't forget my camera! If I don't, expect pictures.

One o' those days.....

Ever have one of those days where it just seems that nothing is functioning right? Things go wrong, you make no progress at work because you can't seem to concentrate on anything for longer than about 5 miliseconds.....well, I had one today. Observation - it makes for a long day when the coffee maker is out of commission. But a trip to Starbucks will change your perspective. Perked me right up. BTW: why are there so many Asians doing work at Starbucks at 2:00 PM on a Tuesday? Not homework and not as Starbucks employees. Just actually doing their work. Work work. Complete with blackberries, laptops, neckties and portfolios. Seemed odd to me. All the non-asians were just chatting and sipping their beverages, sending or receiving the occasional text message in flip-flops rather than power suits. That tells you how long it takes Starbucks to fix a cup of coffee. If I'd had to wait any longer, I would have had to give my resume to one of the working Asians. Didn't intend to be gone from the office for that long. Anyway.......

So at some point I will be adding links to my friends' blogs. I'm sure you will enjoy meandering through cyberspace. I will try to keep it entertaining though. So if one of their blogs is a dud, just let me know and I will remove it immediately.

Opening Day

So I have decided that I need to be less out of touch with the rest of my generation. Up until now I have avoided just about anything technical, especially as it pertains to the WWW and social networking. But that isn't working for me anymore, so it's time to expand my horizons. So without further ado, I bring you.........Observations. The title is somewhat of an inside joke between a few of my friends and me but everyone else who knows me at least somewhat probably get it too.
